An avid Liverpool fan has been asking other Reds 'as funny as it is do you actually want to see Everton go down?'
It's a fairly unanimous 'no'; comedian Adam Rowe gave the best answer 'no, if they go down they might win a few games, we want them to suffer every season and finish 17th'. In typical scouse humour but truthfully we would all agree.
Should Leeds or Leicester join Southamptons fate they would be better prepared for recovery but the financial hit on Everton particularly with the new stadium being built will make things incredibly difficult to bounce back especially if an exodus of players occurs. I can't see Onana or Iwobi staying given their quality and the interest that brings.
Liverpool have not had a good season but seeing the struggle of our blue rivals and another rival club in Chelsea really shows how things can go from bad to worse and I'm now actually grateful we can't finish below 5th place. The Europe League is not the ambition of our club but it does provide european experience to a developing squad.
It seems dead set that Liverpool are getting MacAllster in the summer and whilst some might argue Caicedo is a more exciting prospect (some being me) there's no doubt MacAllister brings experience that will be needed in a developing midfield. My next question for Reds fans is who else should we be targeting and should Trent just play midfield next season?
